One of the first lessons Jen learned in farming is that 'the Earth loves to cover herself'.  This cover crop blend grows quickly to keep nutrients in your soil, suppress weeds, and if you have chickens provide food and straw.

A versatile grass/legume combo for all-season use.

Provides nitrogen fixation, deep root penetration, winter cover and more. Sow no later than 6-8 weeks before first fall frost for use as a winter cover that winter-kills at about 15 degrees F, leaving behind a great mulch. (70% peas/30% oats by weight). Seeding rate: 180 lbs/acre, 5-6 lbs/1000 sq ft, 1 lb/150-200 sq ft.
